Free Wireless Internet Access at Continental Airlines
Continental Airlines to Offer Complimentary Wireless Internet Access In Presidents Clubs Free Wi-Fi Access Currently Available at Houston, New York, Cleveland Hubs. Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) announced it is expanding the number of its Presidents Clubs offering wireless Internet access, with all 28 clubs Wi-Fi-enabled by the end of 2004. The airline currently offers the service at its five Presidents Clubs at Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport, three at Newark Liberty International, and one at Cleveland Hopkins International. The service, powered by Cisco Aironet Wi-Fi Access Points, enables any Presidents Club member with a Wi-Fi compatible computer or client card to access the Internet from anywhere in the club. Continental will have tip sheets available to help members log in to the service. "Customers increasingly want to stay connected, both on the ground and in the air," said a Continental spokesperson. "Wireless Internet access in our Presidents Clubs and Verizon’s JetConnect service onboard our aircraft let travelers stay in touch throughout their travels." Continental Airlines is the world’s seventh-largest airline with more than 2,300 daily departures to 126 domestic and 101 international destinations throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia. With 42,000 mainline employees, the airline has hubs serving New York, Houston, Cleveland and Guam, and carries approximately 51 million passengers per year.
